Inc. magazine has just released its 38th annual Inc. 5000, the most prestigious ranking of the fastest-growing private companies in the United States. Locally based Atlanta Communities Real Estate Brokerage has made the list. The Inc. 5000 represents a unique look at the most successful companies within the American economy’s most dynamic segment— its independent small businesses. Companies such as Microsoft, Domino’s Pizza, Dell, Zillow, Under Armour, Yelp and many other well-known names gained their first national exposure as Inc. 5000 honorees.
This is the sixth straight year that independent real estate brokerage Atlanta Communities has earned a place on the Inc. 5000. Only a fraction of those who apply for the Inc. 5000 make the list. A mere 3 percent of businesses have made the list six times. Over the last three years, Atlanta Communities has experienced a 77 percent growth rate. It surpassed the $1 billion sales mark for the first time in 2014 and has not looked back, more than doubling that annual production in 2018 with $2.3 billion in sales. It opened its sixth location—in Alpharetta—this year.
“The companies on this year’s Inc. 5000 have followed many different paths to success,” stated Inc. Editor in Chief James Ledbetter. “There’s no single course you can follow or investment you can take that will guarantee this kind of spectacular growth. But what they have in common is persistence and seizing opportunities.”
Atlanta Communities Real Estate Brokerage was again honored, earlier this year, when it made the Real Trends 500 list, a national list compiled exclusively by annual real estate sales. The firm placed No. 60 for transactions with over 8,400 transactions in 2018.
Atlanta was also singled out by Inc. as one of the 10 Hottest Startup Cities in America. The top cities list is based on the highest collective three-year growth rate among this year’s Inc. 5000 honorees. It was the only Southeastern city to make the list.
“Metro Atlanta is not only a great place to have a business, but to also call home,” said Atlanta Communities CEO and Founder Judson Adamson. “We are proud to be a top-rated, independent real estate brokerage based in the Atlanta region. Our approach is a little different from traditional real estate franchises. The success we have experienced in our 10 years in operation speaks to filling a need in the local marketplace.”
The 2019 Inc. 5000, unveiled online at Inc.com and with the top 500 companies featured in the September issue of Inc. is the most competitive crop in the list’s history. The Inc. 5000’s aggregate revenue is $237.7 billion, accounting for just over 1.2 million jobs during the last three years. Complete results of the Inc. 5000, including company profiles and an interactive database that can be sorted by industry, region, and other criteria, can be found at www.inc.com/inc5000.
